A narrated recital that retraces the most significant events in Liszt's life as a concert performer, composer and intellectual at court and outlines his European and cosmopolitan inspiration as well as the visionary nature of many of his creative intuitions. The storytelling is interspersed throughout the performance of rare Lisztian pieces for violin and piano, such as La lugubre gondola; La notte; and Hungarian Rhapsody no. 12.
